Sushi is a treat that I normally enjoy out at a restaurant. I've never had the confidence to try it at home but after taking a class with Studio Nihon, I now know a few basics to creating one of my favorite types of food. Six friends and I had the amazing sushi chef Fukiko, give us an at-home sushi making party/class. She brought the goods, the equipment and beautiful Japanese table settings for our evening. Check out some of my sushi making comrades recaps here and here and get more info about having your own sushi party here!

I made sushi with my girlfriends in SF a few times and it was always so much fun and SO deliciously fresh! I need to try to make some rolls again or host a sushi making party here in NY. ;)

I did a make your own sushi class once in college, but it did NOT look anything like this. Totally gourmet and looks divine! Also, what a gorgeous kimono she's wearing!
What a great idea! I would love to try this sometime! Or just try making homemade sushi in general. ha.
